Web Development

Web development is programming functionality for the web. This may involve calculations, email functions, the use of APIs such as Twitter, or retrieving data from a database.

Database Driven Sites

The vast majority of web development projects involve database driven websites. A good example would be a recruitment system, where the website owner could enter jobs into a database, and they will appear on the website. They can be made searchable and sortable, and calculations can be made on the data ''on the fly''.

Email Functions

The most common email function is the contact form. The user enters their details and submits the form. The function then processes the data and sends the appropriate emails. Other functions could enable notifications on a given action by the user.

Using APIs

Many services such as Twitter, Facebook, and news sites such the Guardian, have APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) that allow us to access these services via a program we write. In this way we can either use data from, or post data to these services and add functionality and value to your site.

Experience

Fluidity Media has many years experience of programming for the web, in several different languages and environments. We can develop your applications rapidly and give a great return on your investment.
